What is the BTDarters' Location Verification Certificate™?

The BTDarters' Location Verification Certificate™ is a document that can be purchased on a per-fish basis (as available) that certifies the location code where a certain fish was caught. This can be helpful to the aquarist interested in fish conservation because he or she can be assured that the fish they purchased came from the same location, insuring a "clean" genetic stock. Additionally, this can be helpful for future purchases from the same location. The location-code, county, and state alone are given for the location because, well, we want to keep ourselves in business!! =) The location code uniquely identifies the site at BTDarters and is kept secret. After purchasing fish from a certain location, you may purchase more fish from that location simply by giving BTDarters the location-code, county, and state of the fish previously purchased. The Location Verification Certificate™ consists of two documents, the Picture Certificate™ and the Chain of Custody Form™. The Picture Certificate™ certifies that the fish did actually come from the location listed. The Chain of Custody Form™ is used to track ownership of the specific fish. For the security of our customers, each document is given a Certification Code™, that is used to uniquely identify the document. This Certification Code™ is kept at BTDarters and, in the event of a suspected document forgery, the code can be referenced to verify to whom the specific fish was sold. In all, this two-part document is a means to help the aquarist and the conservationist keep breeding lines clean, and feel confident that the fish they receive are certified to have been captured in an environmentally-friendly manner.
